These suspicious-looking, fraudulent calls can be made from individuals posing as our agents or as representatives of IRDA (Insurance Regulatory Development Authority) or from other insurance companies.
These suspicious calls may claim to have complete knowledge and information about your existing insurance policies and urge you to make investments in return of significant returns or surrender your policies for better coverage. However, it would help if you exercise caution and due care on receiving any such communication/phone calls. Examples of these spurious phone calls and communication may typically ask you to –
There can be instances wherein callers may pose as IRDAI-authorised personnel and allege that your invested funds and products experience poor performance, asking you to re-invest elsewhere.
Please note that Canara HSBC shall never call you and ask for sensitive personal information such as one time passwords (OTPs). However, we may contact you if we require your support or assistance in investigating such matters.
We urge you to report the matter in writing if you receive any such phone calls, SMS, or e-mails that look suspicious. You must mention the contact number, e-mail address, or other details about the communication to our Complaint Redressal Unit (CRU). The details of CRU are mentioned below –
